Review: Cuzzy's Key West Seafood Shack

REVIEW - It's not often a new Seafood restaurant opens up on my side of town, so it came as a shock to me to learn about a new spot just down the road serving up Key West flavored seafood.


If you've never heard the word Cuzzy's, you may not be familiar with some of the best tasting dipping sauce on the market. I was first introduced to Cuzzy's when I worked at a little restaurant in the Southwood Towncenter back in my college days (oh 4-5 years ago). Cafe' Houston's was the restaurant, and Cuzzy's was a special sauce we'd roll out for our customers who would order the seafood items off of our menu. Well, people not only liked to dip their seafood in it, but I later learned they were putting it on their pizza, fries, and almost anything else that one could apply sauce to.

As you may recall from a recent Business Matters story, Cuzzy's Key West Sauces was featured on QVC's cable TV show "In the Kitchen with David" on June 28. In less than two minutes, Cuzzy's sold out of the company's sauce sampler, which consists of the original, Tropical Chipotle and Mild Cajun flavors. In addition selling out during the live segment, hundreds of customers purchased Cuzzy's online through QVC's Web site.
